Alex Shaver

I was a member of the Diwan lab 2016-2018. While there, I worked closely with John to study lysosomal biology in hlh-30 deficient worms. In May 2018, I received undergraduate degrees in Chemistry and Microbiology from the University of Alabama. Now, I am a Ph.D. student at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine studying Pharmacology and Molecular Sciences. I work with Dr. Netz Arroyo developing electrochemical, aptamer-based sensors for continuous monitoring of drug levels in vivo. I am forever grateful to Dr. Diwan and the members of his lab for their teaching and support, for they had a pivotal role in my decision to continue my scientific education
